Geotechnical Laboratory
The Aggregates Laboratory is dedicated to the characterisation of aggregates and granular materials used in road and rail construction and in concrete works. We perform grain-size classification, determination of particle shape (flakiness and shape index), fragmentation resistance tests (Los Angeles), wear resistance (micro-Deval), determination of bulk density and water absorption, and sand equivalent tests. Analyses follow the European standards EN 13242, EN 12620 and EN 13450.
